  No longer an MS! Hooray...finally!

  well, it's finally happened!.

  im no longer an ms.. as many would know from our chats via this forum, i've seen it coming for a while....and while the way it was done stinks, i'm really happy to finally be free!.

  (would love to share more details...i will do in time...or perhaps a pm would be best).

  The other major reason for not holding a title is to not share in the sins of the old men!  I was always told to flee when you catch site of disgusting things.  Yay....run!

  Sam Herd to speak at Orangeburg, SC assemblies Jan. 17-18

  i just heard a fairly reliable rumor that sam herd will be the "guest bethel speaker" at the circuit assemblies at the orangeburg sc assembly hall on january 17-18. .

  orangeburg is about halfway between columbia & charleston, assembly hall is right off i-26.. just in case any of y'all want to be enlightened.

  Interesting.  I wonder on the long term value of the GB making a rule that everyone follows for a week or not at all.   What lasting undermining effects does it have on the individuals that shrugs it off.  To be able to shrug it off in the first place the JW has to toss the info and the GB member who gave it ....even if only slightly.  It chips away at blind faith.

  Why So Many Young People Are Leaving The Watchtower

  i have been giving a lot of thought to the young people who are leaving the watchtower organization in recent years.

  last night, i was reading the thread posted by jwfacts a while back in which he provided some statistics and graphs showing the rapidly declining growth in the watchtower.

  one factor that was discussed at length was the high number of young people who do not stay in the organization.

  My teen daughter has flatly refused to go to anymore meetings.  She felt this way even before it was obvious to me I was in a cult.  She would not leave the car when the memorial took place.  She dug in and said , "This is your crazy religion that makes you scared of life, not mine."

  She said the youth of today will not tolerate anti-gay, misogyny, or any hateful disfellowshipping.  Never mind a Bible written for white men.  She was very clear that her generation was informed and will look at all the evidence.  She sent her Dad JWfacts.  She told him if he makes her go to the hall she will corrupt the kids intentionally with these facts.  Also she said that she will not discuss JW literature until he looks at the entire site of JW facts since he is bullied by his leaders to stay ignorant under penalty.  She has agreed to no such fear of research.

  she told our family therapist in front of her Dad that she will not have her head counted in attendance towards such a hateful group of people that dehumanizes others....EVER.

  She is part of a group at school that reviews organizations that advocate hate.  She used Sam Herds talk on womens small brains as a speaking point.  When she told her Dad about it and sent him the talk he was upset.  She invited him to be interviewed in defense  of Sam Herd.  He was not going to sink with that ship.

  Is shunning a common religious punishment for reporting sexual abuse (or other crimes)?

  in other words, is it true that the watchtower is just like other religions when it comes to cover-ups?.

  from personal experience (with incest and doctrinal/financial fraud) in the watchtower i would say so.. especially when i compare stories like the one i read today:.

  "its impossible to know how many women have been raped by jewish men.

  I have many friends with unreported stories.  Too many.  People hide behind the Bible/power in every religion.

  i never thought we would be watching Bill Cosby turn into a creep...but look where we are.

  as far as the WT covering up....  Yes.  There was a cover up in my hall.  When the moms found out about it...the moms were trampled by the elders.  The elders were furious we were talking about it. I was publicly reproved after I was forced to apologize to the pervert or be dfd. The elders also wanted names of all the moms talking. I refused to give the names so they hung me from the rafters.  The level of ugliness they heaped on my family was very long and very painful.

  guess what? The pervert reoffended. Instead of apologizing to our family, Bethel and the elder body became even more vengeful that we were right to be concerned for our kids all staying the night, without warning at this perverts house. So the elders had a marking talk ....about us.  Not the pervert....us.  Why?  To keep people from reaching out to us after we were right that the pervert couldn't stop and our concern for our kids and others was valid.

  oh and what happened to the teen girl the Servant offended.....well they dfd her.

  victim hung on to faith .

  dylan boe held on to his faith until the end.. the 19-year-old was the only one of four young friends who wasn't immediately killed in a two-vehicle crash near melville, saturday.. like preston presiloski, adam anderson and elisha stasiuk, boe was a jehovah's witness.

  Experience in a talk

  last week we had an elder giving a talk, cant remember the title.. the thing that was of interest is the experience he gave:.

  "a brother who was working in a hospital had to leave his job which was paying him good money because the nurses wanted to sleep with him and they kept putting notes for him on his desk!".

  this is not the first time i hear similar experience.

  Is the Watchtower Shifting All Financial and Legal Risk to Local Elders, are they 100% liable for Negligence?

  what is the watchtower organization leaving behind for all the kingdom halls after their done siphoning them dry?

  who is going to pay for a lawsuit or damages when some incompetent elders or three are busted for something very bad?

  will the watchtower help or leave them alone for the sharks to shred to pieces?

  I know the Catholic Church also tried the tactic of not being responsible for the satellite churches they owned.  It did not work.  Unless headquarters gives a real directive to let the police handle all crimes they will be liable for all the inbetween red tape their internal rules create.

  they need to do this.

  1: tell the congregation that any crimes confessed to them will be reported to the police.

  2: background checks will be mandatory for anyone with any title.
